MEMORIES OF A TRAIN JOURNEY

I've just come across these snowy photos I took last winter. I will start you off with this image taken from my bedroom window early one morning.

For Christmas we headed north to Scotland, taking the train from King's Cross to Edinburgh. This is Durham Cathedral which was started in 1093 and took 40 years to build.

Some of the 10 bridges that span the Tyne connecting Gateshead to Newcastle.

The Northumberland countryside under snow.

Passing through Berwick-upon-Tweed, only 2.5 miles from the Scottish border.

Darkness starting to fall as we approach Edinburgh.
