ROCK ON!

Eat your heart out Jimmy Page, here is Joe my youngest brother in action...
...Unfortunately appearances like these take their toll!

LONDON BY BUS

Going home on the number 77 bus. I really recommend it for seeing iconic London sites.
The Cenotaph in Whitehall, The Empty Tomb
Others who took the same route, only they had to pay to see the sites!
Big ben in all its glory
A really cool shot of Parliament from a rather wobbly bus ride
Boris bikes, a commuters best friend
I was sitting at the back of the bus, on the top deck.
Finally, the numerous train tracks of Clapham Junction signaled the end of our journey

IT'S ALL GREEK TO ME!

Last summer me and my family visited Greese. This is my cool little brother, Joe, on the long journey from Athens to the Peloponnese.

The landscape was wonderful when we arrived at the house. This is the view from our balcony.

This amazing lagoon called Voidokilia featured in the Odyssey. With turquise-blue water and silky soft sand, it was magical.

This is the local bay at Koroni.

One of the highlights of the trip was a visit to the ancient Polylimnios waterfall.

I went for a swim in the pool - you can even get behind the waterfall!

Joe having a quiet moment in a Koroni bar.

Me and Dad on the balcony - the wine is his, not mine ;-)!

NORTHERN STAR

Over the summer I went to visit my grandparents who live near Newcastle. This cool city, once an industrial ship building centre, is now full of amazing feats of architecture.

The Gateshead Millennium Bridge is a super-cool tilt bridge. See how it works  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:MovableBridge_tilt.gif
The Sage Gateshead is a phenomenal theatre and concert venue.

HISTORIC LONDON

Before we broke up for summer we went on a history trip around London. Here are some of the things we saw.

One of the many entrances to Westminster Abbey, not the one used at the royal wedding though. William the Conqueror was crowned here much to the disgust of us English. I also learned that Geoffrey Chaucer was the first poet to be buried in Poets' Corner in 1400.

London Bridge on a typically grey London Day!
The White Tower, part of the Tower of London, built by William the Conqueror (yes, him again!) in 1078. It is thought that Edward V of England and his brother Richard (known as the Princes in the Tower) are thought to have been murdered here by their uncle in 1483.
A Yeoman Warder at the Tower of London.
Five centuries of royal armour are on display at the Tower, including this fine piece.

Death masks of those unfortunate enough to have been beheaded at the Tower.
Beheading was considered the kindest form of execution even though it may have taken up to ten blows to sever the head - revolting!

BRIGHTON DAYS

This is James, my friend from primary school, with his sister Caity and his dad Gordon. They moved to Brighton two years ago, and we always have a fantastic time when we visit them.
See you again soon!
